University of Natural Sciences has great contribution to the educational program of the country. It underwent many transformations. It was established in 1942 as a division of Indochina College of Sciences. It was renamed as Faculty of Sciences in 1956 under the University of Saigon. It was merged with Faculty of Letters in 1977 and took shape as University of Natural Sciences.
In 2003
University of Natural Sciences was awarded the Third-Order Independence Decoration and in 2001 it was awarded a First-order Labor decoration. It has been affiliated by the Vietnam National University ho Chi Minh City. It received continuous government grants.
University of Natural Sciences of Vietnam offer graduate and post graduate courses. It also provides doctorate degree programs. The students include Vietnamese as well as foreign citizens.
