Tet Han Thuc is celebrated in all the regions of Vietnam, and is a popular Vietnam festival. Tet Han Thuc is an occasion where people offer homage to their ancestors. In this festival people visit the burial graves of their relatives and worship their ancestors. Tet Han Thuc has its own unique way of celebration and people have fun during the spring.
Glutinous rice flour cakes are must during this festival and various kinds of such preparations are made. Some of them are stuffed with plum of brown sugar and some of them are stuffed with green bean paste. Along with these cakes, Vietnamese families prepare a pot of floating cakes. The floating cakes are very tasty and they are filled with sugar fillings and look similar to the viscous yellow sweet soup. These delicious rice flour cakes are first offered to the ancestors and then consumed by the family members.
Tet Han Thuc has a very pleasant way of celebration. Though the festival is not celebrated with great pomp and show, yet it brings the family closer and strengthens the family tie all the more.
