Orinoco Delta almost covers the Delta Amacuro State in Venezuela. Its total surface area is 40,200 km square. The annual temperature of Delta Amacuro of Venezuela varies between 26 degree and 28 degree Celsius. According to the Census report of 2007, the total population of this state is 1,52,700 inhabitants. Tucupita, Pedernales and Ajotejana are the main cities of Delta Amacuro.
The economic activities of the state comprise fishing and farming activities. The main agricultural products of the state are yucca, rice, cacao, maize, bananas and caraotas. Cattle ranching is another economic activity of the people living here. Extraction of oil from tartago seeds is another activity of the people of this state. These seeds contains medicinal properties.
Petroleum and bauxite deposits are found in Tucupita. There are many oil refineries in Tucupita, the capital city of Delta Amacuro.
