There are two tennis cups that are held in Venezuela namely the Davis Cup and Fed Cup. The national Davis Cup team and Fed cup team of Venezuela is controlled by Federacion Venezolana de Tennis. In the Davis cup competition Venezuelan tennis players compete with the various American tennis teams. The first Davis Cup took place in the year 1957. The Davis Cup tennis team of Venezuela is taking special preparation to enter the world cup football. The first Fed Cup competition was held in the year 1984. The Fed Cup team has performed excellently in the years 1998 and 2001. The national tennis team of Venezuela is funded by the government of Venezuela for the various tennis matches. The most famous tennis players of Venezuela are Nicolas Pereira, Juan Carlos Bianchi, Milagros Sequera, Maria Vento-Kabchi and Jimy Sequera.
