Venezuelan Professional Baseball League or LVBP is the most eminent base ball league in Venezuela. Venezuelan Professional Baseball League involves the participation of 8 teams, which are further divided into two sections. The two divisions are namely the East and the West zone. These two divisions play a total of 62 games starting from October till December. The semi-finals are held in the month of January where the 3 most competent teams from each division are selected to play a round of 16 games. Again, the two most well-deserving teams move onto the quarter- final round where 7 baseball matches are played. The best of the Venezuelan baseball players who win the quarter-final round compete with Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Mexican teams for the final Caribbean world baseball series. LVBP has won six times the Caribbean world series or CWS. LVBP is attached with United States Minor League Baseball and is also one of its winter leagues.
