Miss Venezuela is a national beauty contest in Venezuela, where female teenage participants are judged on the basis of their beauty and intellect. The winners of Miss Venezuela move forward to participate in the international beauty pageants like the Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss International and the likes. The contest had its inception in the year 1952. Under the able guidance of Osmel Sousa, Venezuela earned many international beauty pageants. In the international beauty contests, the Venezuela participants have proved their beauty along with brains many a time.
The Venezuela Beauty Pageant is usually held in the month of September. Preparations start at least two to three months before the event. The arrangements include distribution of prizes, training the participants and the likes. The competition lasts for four hours and it is covered by the Venezuela television channel, Venevision. The program is shown through live broadcasting in all the Latin American countries.
