Venezuela shopping is one of the most exciting and much loved activities in the country. For all tourists, particularly die hard shopping enthusiasts, it is a must to indulge in Venezuela shopping.

Shopping in Venezuela

There are unending options for shopping in Venezuela, as shoppers can opt for the sprawling and posh shopping malls or the colorful local markets, selling a bright array of the indigenous stuff. Some popular shopping malls in Caracas are Centro Comercial Ciudad Tamanaco, Centro Lido, Centro Comercial Paseo Las Mercedes and Centro Sambil. Venezuela is a veritable shoppers' paradise, where people can find unique handicrafts made by the local Indian tribes. Tourists can also buy goods such as jewelry, gems, cacique coins, pompom slippers, gold, seed necklaces, pearls, shoes and handbags. The other local shopping items include Indian bows, baskets, arrows, pipes, alpargatas or traditional local shoes of the Campesinos, chinchorros or local hammocks, and plenty of other local Indian items. The shopping hours in Venezuela are from 7 am to 1 pm and from 3 pm to 7 pm.

Shopping in Margarita Island

Being a duty free port, people find shopping in the island extremely reasonable. There are open air markets in Margarita island, which sell handicrafts, straw hats and bags, hammocks and much more.
