Armando Reveron is one of the most famous artistes of Venezuela, whose worthy creations can be traced back to the 19th century. Armando Reveron made important contributions as a creative painter to Venezuela Art. Armando Reveron of Venezuela did not follow the styles set by his ancestors and rather came up with a modern fashion of painting.
Early Years of Armando Reveron
Armando Reveron was born in Caracas in 1889. From his early childhood, he was drawn to the world of art and with the passage of time his interest in painting started to reach new heights. He moved around Caracas, Barcelona and Madrid to acquire the early knowledge in painting. After returning to Venezuela, he became a part of the Circulo de Bellas Artes, and created a number of blue paintings, which are still preserved. However, the government of Venezuela turned hostile to the works of Circulo de Bellas Artes and adopted repressive measures to destroy them. During this phase, Armando Reveron retreated to Macuto, a village in the Caribbean Coast.
Work of Armando Reveron
While in Macuto, he created the famous walled compound, which came to be popularly known as ‘El Castillete’. During his stay in Macuto, his work started being was influenced by the Central Coast of Venezuela. During 1930’s Armando Reveron again started figure painting. This time he painted live models and large sized dolls. However, he again returned to landscape painting in 1940’s and concentrated in decorating the interiors of ‘El Castillete’ with figure paintings.
The death of Armando Reveron in 1954 left behind his great creations, which marked a new phase of meaningful innovation in the field of art in Venezuela.
