The United States has
eight time zones from east to west. United States share the main four time zones with Canada and they are
Eastern Standard Time (EST), Central Standard Time (CST), Mountain Standard Time (MST) and Pacific Standard Time (PST).
Hawaii-Aleutian Standard Time (HST) and Alaskan Standard Time (AST is separate Time Zones. It even has the
Atlantic Standard Time and the Samoa Standard Time.
Daylight Saving Time begins for most of the USA at 2 a.m. on the first Sunday of April. Time reverts back to the standard time at 2 a.m.on the last Sunday of October. The name changes in each time zone along with Daylight Saving Time. One would notice that the Eastern Standard Time changes to Eastern Daylight Time. There are many places, which does not observe the Daylight Saving Time and they are Arizona, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, US Virgin Island and America Samoa. A new federal law is about to initiate to extend the Daylight Saving Time by four
weeks.
