Virginia Law

Virginia law is governed by the State Bar of Virginia which owes origins to the year of 1938 when it was established by the General Assembly of the state. Its original function was to serve as the administrative unit of the apex court of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
The State Bar of Virginia played a pivotal role in unifying all advocates practicing within the vicinities of the Commonwealth. Every judiciary zone from all parts of Virginia elects their respective members to the State Bar. The main objectives of the Virginia State Bar are to offer easy and quality legal services to the residents of Virginia. The main objectives of the Virginia State bar is to help regulate the Virginia State Laws operating within the Commonwealth, providing improved legal help to Virginians and to improve the judicial system of the state.

Virginia law allows all residents within the Commonwealth to represent their own case in court and within this criterion are also included divorce laws. However, divorce laws of Virginia restrict the authority of the court to grant divorce to battling couples and special terms and conditions are laid on the court for proceeding with divorce cases in court. Circuit courts within Virginia are granted the authority to hold divorce proceedings within their jurisdiction. Virginia has a provision for a special Lemon law which is a slang used for the Motor Warranty Enforcement Act, the Virginia Lemon laws are applicable to only motorcycles, automobiles and trucks.
