Alexandria City

The city of Alexandria holds an independent entity within the Commonwealth of Virginia and is located at the northern end of the state. Alexandria's location on the western banks of the Potomac river that meanders through the state of Virginia, enables it to enjoy a position very close to the capital of USA, Washington D.C. Being a metropolitan area, Alexandria is home to many Virginians who settle in the city, in the hope of being successful in their profession. According to the census records of 2000, the city displays a population of around 128,283.

Alexandria's proximity to Washington D.C. has made it extremely suited to people in the civil services.
