The
Texas flag is the fourth among the
six flags over Texas. Though the flag's designer is unknown but it was first aimed by William Wharton in the Third Congress through a bill dated 28th December 1838.
The flag was finally accepted in the year 1839, on 21st January, when
Texas was counted as the twenty eighth state. The flag bears a single star, which distinguishes it from the other five flags over
Texas. The flag is the national
flag of Texas.
The
Texas flag is of rectangular shape with three colors- red, white and blue. The star features on the blue part of the flag, which stands vertically occupying one-third of the flag's length. The pentagon star is of white color with one tip facing upwards. The remaining part is divided equally and features the two colors red and white. The colors are carefully chosen for their diverse significance. The red color stands for bravery, white denotes strength and purity while the color blue symbolizes loyalty. The five points of the star symbolizes the good characteristics, which a person should possess. The qualities are prudence, morality, fortitude or bravery, loyalty and broadmindedness.
