What began as a medium to encourage the players, turned into a style trend in Texas-The Texas Cheerleader. With much needed physical fitness and a tinge of aerobics, The Texas Cheerleaders have gained the name and fame as the best in any of the cheer leading teams.
Apart from increasing the confidence of the players in sports like football, American soccer or rugby, basketball, ice hockey and baseball, the Texas Cheerleader have also become a crested name in the field of competitive cheerleading. Having been most common in North America, Cheerleading has been a distinctive characteristic of Texas.
Cheerleading first appeared in Great Britain in the 1880s, but gained prominence with the
Texas cheer leading squads like the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, The longhorn School Cheerleading squad, etc. Numerous cheerleaders organization like the
American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Advisors or the
AACCA and the
National Council for Spirit Safety and Education or the
NCSSE were established to restrict the dangerous moves and stunts included in
Cheerleading in Texas and other parts of the world. Among the championships that are organized for Cheerleading squads, the USASF World Championships are the front-runners.
It is the dynamism, the energy and the vibrancy that are reflected in the enthusiastic moves of the Texas Cheerleaders that have branded them among the best. They reflect of the enthusiasm of the Texas youth.
