The University of Oregon (UO) is a public, co-educational research university in Eugene, Oregon. It is the second-oldest public university. Founded in 1876, it is one of the sixty members of the Association of American Universities. The university of Oregon has eight schools and colleges: six professional schools and colleges, an Arts and Sciences College and an Honors College. The campus is spread over 295 acres of land and enrolls approximately 23,000 students every year.

The Willamette University is the oldest university in the Western United States. It is a private institution located in Salem, Oregon. It comprises undergraduate College of Liberal Arts and post-graduate schools of business, law and education. It was founded as the Oregon Institute by Jason Lee in 1842. In 1852, the name of the university was changed to Wallamet university, followed by the current spelling in 1870. The campus is spread across 69 acres of land and approximately 2,500 students enroll every year. The university is a member of the Annapolis Group of colleges.

The Portland State University is a public university located in Portland. It has Oregon's largest enrollment, and was founded in 1946. It is a part of Oregon University System, and is the only university in Oregon located in a major metropolitan city. It enrolls 29,818 students every year. The university was ranked among the Best 376 Colleges by Princeton Review. The university offers more than 50oo degrees, including 3,532 bachelor degrees, 1625 master degrees and 50 doctoral degrees.

The Columbia Gorge Community College is a public college in The Dalles, on the Columbia River in the Columbia River Gorge. It was started in 1977 as the Wasco Area Education Service District. The designation of the college was changed from service district to community college in 1989. The college offers credit instructions, certificates, and degrees.
