About Manhattan

Manhattan is one of the boroughs (an administrative division) of New York City and also one of the most densely populated regions. It is spread over an area of 22.7 square miles and is considered to be the economic and cultural center of the United States. One of the most expensive real estate destinations in the world, Manhattan is also the world's financial capital. It is home to the New York Stock exchange(NYSE), NASDAQ, and the United Nations Headquarters.

City Attractions
Manhattan is truly a traveler's delight. Some of the prominent attractions in Manhattan include:
Empire State Building: It is a 102-storey skyscraper with a height of 1454 feet. It was completed in 1931 and is currently the fourth-tallest completed skyscraper in the United States. The American Society of Civil Engineers has named it as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World.

Chrysler Building: It is an Art Deco style skyscraper in Manhattan. Chrysler Building was the world's tallest building for 11 months before the distinction passed to Empire State Building.

Times Square: One of the world's most visited tourist attractions. It is a major commercial intersection and a neighborhood. Times Square is illuminated with billboards and advertisements,

Other places of interest include Central Park, Apollo Theater, American Museum of Natural History, Bloomberg Office, Central Park Zoo, and Hell's Kitchen, to name a few.

Mass transit is the dominant form of travel for the people of Manhattan. The New York City Subway is the main means of travel. It is one of the largest subways in the world by number of stations and links every borough, except Staten Island. Manhattan has around 147 subway stations, of these, 32 are express-local stations. The MTA New York City Bus provides the bus services in Manhattan. Other popular means of transportation include tramways, taxis, and cabs, among others. The Trans-Manhattan Expressway is also located in Manhattan.
