New Hampshire is home to a number of colleges and universities. The University of New Mexico is the largest university in the state.

There are many accredited colleges and universities in the state of New Hampshire. The institutions offer bachelor's, master's, doctoral, and professional degree programs in a wide variety of fields. The major universities in the state are:

New Mexico State University: Located at Las Cruces, New Mexico, the New Mexico State University is a major land-grant university. With an enrollment of 18,497 students, it is the second-largest four year university in the state. The university was founded in 1888 by Hiram Hadley. It was found as an agricultural college and was known as the Las Cruces College, and changed its name to the present one in 1960. The university has research centers all across New Mexico. The major courses offered include agriculture, business, physical sciences, engineering and economics. Barbara Couture is the president.

The University of New Mexico: Located at Albuquerque, New Mexico, the University of New Mexico is a public research university and the flagship research institution of the state. It is the largest post-secondary university in the state with an enrollment of 34,674 students. It was established in 1889. The major courses offered by the institution are: fine arts, education, nursing, pharmacy, engineering, architecture, law, medicine, and public administration. David J. Schmidly is the president.

Western New Mexico University: Established in 1893, the Western New Mexico University is a public university. It is a co-educational university located in Silver City, New Mexico. The major academic programs offered are accounting, criminal justice, education, nursing, and zoology. There are approximately 3,200 students enrolled in the institution. Dr. Joseph Shepard is the president of the university.
