The beautiful city of Detroit is located on the banks of the Detroit River that connects Lake Erie and Lake Saint Clair. Detroit experiences temperate climate. Detroit was founded in 1701 by Frenchman Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac. Detroit was then established as a fur trading post. Important Festivals: The Comerica Michigan Tastefest is an annual festival held in Detroit. Displayed in this festival are a variety of sumptuous dishes by dozens of Detroit restaurants. These restaurants put on display a wide variety of American and ethnic dishes in this five-day arts and cultural fair. It is held in the week of 4th of July every year. Along with the food, you can enjoy the entertainment shows that are put up here for children and adults alike.
