The northern and southern regions of Louisiana are connected by the interstate highways 49 and 55. The interstate highways 10, 12 and 20 join the eastern and the western parts of the state.
Louisiana has several golf courses. Bastrop, Baton Rouge, Slidell, New Orleans, Lake Charles, Alexandria, Houma, Shreveport, Monroe and Lafayette are some of the notable golfing destinationswithin the state.
The national parks are major tourist attractions. Some of the famous national parks of Louisiana are Poverty Point National Monument, Cane River National Heritage Area, New Orleans Jazz National Historic Park, Cane River Creole National Historical Park and Jean Lafitte National Historic Park and Preserve.
Several rivers flow through the state. The Red, Mississippi, Sabine River, Ouachita River and Atchafalaya River are some of the major rivers of Louisiana.
