Fort Wayne is a city in the U.S state of Indiana. Founded in 1794, the town was renamed from Kekionga to Fort Miamis, Fort Miami, French Town, Kisakon, Miami Town, Omee Town, Post Miami and Twightwee Village. The city also has many nicknames such as “Summit City,” “Gateway to the West.” etc. Having many diverse denominations and wealth the city was also known as the “City of Churches.” It was incorporated as the City of Fort Wayne on February 22, 1840. It is now the county seat of Allen County.
