California offers a great number of options related to schools. In the past few years the number of options available to the parents who send their children to schools in California have undergone a rise.

California Schools consist of public schools and private schools

Public schools are distributed all over the state with every district containing several public schools. The public schools have their own rules and regulations which vary from district to district.

The Charter schools are types of public schools that have emerged in the recent years. They operate on charter agreements that are provided by the local school boards. Another option provided by public education system is the magnet schools which focus on particular subjects and have a different organizational structure. There are also Alternative schools in California that differ from the traditional schools in many ways.

The private schools in California have their own set of rules, admission criteria, curriculum, board of directors and education structure. They are not funded by the government and they provide scholarships to students. California College of the Arts
This college was established in 1907 is the biggest accredited school of art and design in the western part of U.S.A. The college was set up by Frederick Meyer to provide a comprehensive education on art and designs.

Saint Mary's College of California
Saint Mary's College is one of the best educational institutes in the western region of California. Under this college fall the School of Liberal Arts, School of Economics& Business Administration, School of Education and the School of Science. The first three offer undergraduate as well as graduate level courses while the last one offers only undergraduate programs.


Admissions are based on various application criteria. The college also provides financial aids to the students along with advanced credits, etc. The college has an excellent teaching faculty that consists of academicians with quality and distinction. The teachers help the students outside the classrooms with their advice and guidance.
