Southwestern College was established in 1961. It is one of the 109 public community colleges in California. The degrees offered at Southwestern College are Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts, Associate of Arts and Certificate in Bible. Students can enroll in Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degree in nine majors such namely, Christian Ministries, Biblical Studies, Elementary and Secondary Education, Business Administration, Behavioral Health and Family Studies Music Education and Music Ministry. Associate of Arts is a two-year degree taught in context of Christian World View.
Certificate in Bible is a one-year, non-degree program that helps students in acquiring basic education in Bible without completing a college degree. Southwestern College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and the Association for Biblical Higher Education. The Southwestern College was established under the leadership of pastors in the Sun Valley Conservative Baptist Association. The Southwestern College Library has a rich collection of books for its students.
The campus of Southwestern College is located in the Paradise Valley area north of downtown Phoenix. The mission of the Southwestern College is "to provide a biblically integrated education that prepares its graduates to serve the Lord Jesus Christ in ministries and professional occupations."
