Scottsdale Community College was established in 1970. Initially, it started with just 948 students. Presently, around 12,000 students enroll in credit programs.
Scottsdale Community College offers Associate Degree and Certificates. Associate in General Studies is a degree granted by the Scottsdale Community College. The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) is for those students who want to gain a depth of technical expertise through an occupational program. Degrees are also offered in Applied Sciences, Business and Information Systems, Counseling, Fine Arts, Health, Physical Education and Recreation, Health Science, Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts, Language and Communication, Library Science, Mathematics and Sciences and Social and Behavioral Sciences.
A Certificate of Completion (CCL) is given to students on the completion of specific occupational programs. Occupational Programs include Administration of Justice Studies, American Indian Studies/ Tribal Development, Architectural Technology, Computer information Systems, Culinary Arts, Early Childhood Development, Emergency Medical Technology, Equine Science, Fastrack/Online etc.
