The Glendale Community College was opened in 1965. The College is known for its High Tech Complex and sophisticated technology used to enhance student learning. The enrollment at Glendale Community College (GCC) is the second largest in Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD). The College offers associate degrees, certificate programs, industry-spedific training and university trandfer courses.
The Glendale Community College Main Campus is located on an area of 147 acres. The GCC North extension opened in fall 2000 with only 837 students. GCC North also houses the Northwest Education Center (NEC), a career pathway program for high school juniors and seniors from the Deer Valley Unified School District.
The College offers University Transfer Programs such as Accountancy, Arizona General Education Curriculum, Associate in General Studies, Computer Information Systems, Elementary Education, Psychology, Social Work etc. Career and Technical Programs are offered in Accounting, Administration of Justice Studies, Agribusiness and Urban Horticulture, Applied Technology, Automotive Technology, Business and Information Technology, Business and Personal Computers, Child/Family Studies, Cisco Networking, Journalism, Management, Psychology, Real Estate etc. The College also offers a number of non-credit courses.
