Arizona State University (ASU), established in 1885, enrolls more than 60,000 undergraduate students, graduate students, and professionals in classes held at its campuses. ASU's campuses include its Tempe Campus, West Campus, Polytechnic Campus and Downtown Phoenix Campus. The main campus is located in Tempe. The Tempe Campus is the largest university campus in the United States, in terms of student enrollment. The total number of students at this campus is 51,612.

Arizona State University aims to become a world-class university in a multi-campus setting. The mission of the University is “to provide outstanding programs in instruction, research and creative activity, to promote and support economic development, and to provide service appropriate for the nation, the state of Arizona, and the state’s major metropolitan area.” Every year, around 10,000 students graduate from the four campuses.

Each campus is home to a number of colleges. The West Campus is home to Barrett Honors College, College of Teacher Education and Leadership, New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences and School of Global Management and Leadership.
