Wallace State Community College is a community college located in Hanceville, Alabama that has been named after the former Alabama Governor George C. Wallace.
Wallace State Community College has been providing students with quality education since 1966. Today, the enrollment figures of the college have reached approximately 6,000 students. Wallace State Community College offers more than 50 programs of study. There are academic, health and technical programs. The campus of the college spreads across 250 acres with 35 buildings. Wallace State Community College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The degrees offered by the college are Associate in Arts Degree, Associate in Science Degree and Associate in Applied Science Degree. Certificate Programs are also offered.
There are three separate divisions: Academic Division, Health Division and Technical Division. The Academic Division offers courses in various subjects such as Biology, Business Administration, Business Education, Business Management, Electrical Engineering etc. The Health Sciences Division offers various programs such as Child Development, Clinical Laboratory Technician, Dental Assisting, Diagnostic Medical Sonography etc. The various programs offered by the Technical Division are Agribusiness, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Automotive Reconstruction Technology and Cosmetology.
