Oakswood College offers Majors in subjects such as Accounting, Applied Mathematics, Commercial Art, Photography, Biochemistry, Biology, Biology Education, Business Administration: Information Technology, Business Administration: Health Care Administration, Business Administration: Management, Business Administration: Marketing, Business Education, Chemistry Education, Church Leadership, Psychology: Counseling, Psychology: Industrial/Organizational etc. Oakswood College also offers Minors in Accounting, African-American Studies, Allied Health, Apparel and Design, Biology, Chemistry, Theology, Psychology etc. The Oakswood College is accredited by two bodies. These two bodies are Southern Accrediting Association of Colleges and Schools and the General Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists Department of Education.

After a student has completed two years at Oakwood and two at the University of Alabama, Huntsville Campus, he/she is given a B.S. Applied Mathematics from Oakwood College. The student also gets a B.S. in Engineering from Alabama A and M.
