Miles College was founded in 1905. The Miles College is a private liberal arts institution of the CME (Christian Methodist Episcopal) Church.
This reputed college has been accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools for awarding bachelor's degrees. It is a Historically Black College (HBCU).
Miles College is divided into six divisions: Division of Business and Accounting, Division of Communications, Division of Education, Division of Humanities, Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and Division of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Baccalaureate degrees are offered at the Miles College leading to degrees in majors such as Accounting, Biology, Biology Education, Computer and Information Science, Criminal Justice, Political Science, Social Science Education and Social Work. Miles College offers Minor programs in Accounting, Biology, Business Administration, Public Administration, Religion and Philosophy and Sociology.
The Miles College, Fairfield has a Learning Resources Center that began its service on February 13, 1978. The Learning Resources Center provides information in a variety of styles and formats. The Center has a collection of more than 90,000 volumes including books, bound periodicals, multimedia materials etc. The college directs its students to look for holistic development that will help them in leading an intellectual, ethical, spiritual and service-oriented live.
