Gadsden State Community College is under the control of the Alabama State Board of Education. This public, open-door comprehensive community college has been formed by the combination of four separate colleges.
Various divisions of the Gadsden State Community College are the Academic and Technical Programs of Study, Division of Applied Technology, Division of Engineering Technology, Developmental Studies, Service Members Opportunity Colleges, Service Learning, Division of Health Sciences, Division of Information Technology, Division of Language and Fine Arts, Division of Maths and Engineering, Division of Science
and Aquatic Science, Division of Social Science, Division of Business and Division of Health, P.E. and Recreation. The institute also offers a variety of educational opportunities through distance learning. The various financial aid programs provided by the college are Federal Pell Grant, Federal Supplement Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG), Federal Work Study (FWS) and Alabama Student Assistance Program. Eligible Students can also apply for Alabama Gl Dependent's Scholarship Program. The Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools accredits the college.
