Since the 1968 elections, Wyoming has voted Republican in all the elections; the last Democrat to win here was Lyndon B. Johnson in 1964. As the map shows, the 2008 elections in the state were also won by the Republicans. Republican nominee John McCain bagged the state by a 32.2% margin of victory. Democrat senator Barack Obama managed to get 82,868 popular votes as against McCain's overwhelmingly large number of 164,958 votes. In both 2004 and 2008 elections, Laramie County got the maximum votes for the Republicans, while the least came from the county of Niobrara.
