The 2008 United States presidential elections in Nevada were won by the Democratic party. Democratic nominee Barack Obama won the elctions with a 12.5% margin of victory, sweeping all the five electoral votes. After the Republican victory in 2004, there was large unrest and dissatisfaction with the regime and anti-Republican sentiments were growing nationwide. Obama received 55.15% of the total statewide vote to McCain's 42.65%. The maximum votes for the winning party came from Clark County, while the county of Esmaralda fetched the least number of votes.
