The 2004 United States presidential elections in Connecticut were won by the Democratic party. Democrat nominee John Kerry won by a margin of 10.3%, throwing the state into the Democratic column. Since 1988, the state has been ruled by a Democrat and has not voted for a Republican presidential nominee.

The Democrats continued the trend and walked triumphant in the United States presidential election in the state that took place on November 4, 2008. The Democratic nominee Barack Obama won with a 22.4% margin of victory. All the six counties in the state voted in favor of the Democratic party.

In both the 2000 and 2004 elections, the maximum votes for the Democrat nominees came from the county of Hartford; while the county of Windham fetched the minimum votes for the dominating party.
