- Handle General Compliance issues and Administrative Orders, not excluding Cease and Desist orders against Unauthorized insurers and corporate entities
- Rate cases and represent The Insurance Department at administrative hearings about rate fillings.
- Handles consumer complaints and hearings regarding cancellation and non-renewal of auto insurance policies and non-compliance with workers' compensation rating issues
- Acquisitions and mergers concerning domestic insurers
- Legal Analysis and Memorandums provided to the Department. Interpretation of State and Federal Laws regarding insurance
- Drafting of regulations, bulletins etc that are proposed by the Executive Office
- Investigative and legal assistance to Regulatory Services on Review of a company, third party administrator, risk retention, and applications for licensing
- Legal analysis of insurer charts and by-laws
- Prepares declaratory judgments and other legal opinions for parties outside the department concerning matter on insurance.
- Coordinating with and assisting Attorney general Office in handling appeals from administrative action or legal action involving the Department.
