USA Ice Hockey is a very prominent play played on ice by the youths of United States.
It is usually played n a colder region where there is enough amount of reliable ice cover. It is considered as one of the four major North American professional games, which is represented by the National Hockey League.
Ice Hockey is generally played on a hockey ring. There are usually six players on each side of the ice wherein five of them are the players and there is goaltender, wherein each player is wearing their ice skates. The game's objective lies in wherein each player has to score goals by shooting the disc or the puck hard in the opponent's goal net, which is at the opposite side of the rink. The player uses a long stick, which helps them to redirect the puck with certain restrictions.
The players are usually divided into three forwards and two defencemen. The forward position is basically consists of a center and two wingers, a left wing and a right wing.
The defencemen stays in pair and changes their position quite less frequently only when it is needed. Teams usually employ these forward lines and defensive pairing on a power play. Players are sometimes substituted during the play that is usually termed as Fly.
In most of the competitive league, each team carries at least 23 players on its game roster whereby two of them are goaltenders. The Ice Hockey is usually played on certain Codes. The two important codes being: The International Ice Hockey Federation and the other being North American National Hockey League .
