About Fairbanks City
Fairbanks is a city in the Fairbanks North Star borough of the north western American state of Alaska. It lies in the Central Tanana Valley, on the confluence of the River Chena and the River Tanana, which forms the southern border of Fairbanks. To the north of Fairbanks is a mountain range that reaches the White Mountains and Yukon River, while to its west and east lie low valleys separated by hills. The city was founded in 1901 by Captain T.E Barnette and was incorporated on November 10, 1903. It is named after the 26th Vice President of the United States, Charles W Fairbanks.
