The Art Institutes International Minnesota was established in the year 1964 as Lothian College by Petrena Lothian. The Art Institute of Minnesota offered post –secondary educational programs. In the year 1981 the Art Institutes of Minnesota as Lothian College got the approval to provide degree of Associate of Applied Science and later in the year 2000 it got the approval to offer Bachelors degree in Science.
The Art institute of Minnesota has been accredited as a private professional school by the Minnesota Office of Higher Education (OHE).It has also been officially recognized by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) to offer various degrees including Certificate, Associate in Applied Science, Bachelor of Fine Arts, and Bachelor of Science degrees.
The Art Institute of Minnesota is located at central Minneapolis. The students of the art institute are trained both professionally and personally.
