Uruguay Terrain


Uruguay Terrain is placed over the south east-coastal regions of the South American continent. The terrain of Uruguay is situated in between the neighboring countries of Argentina and Brazil and is famous for the rocky plains and rolling terrains. After Suriname, Uruguay Terrain is the smallest country in the South American continent. The city of Montevideo, which is pronounced as 'mahn teh vih DAY oh' is the capital city of the Uruguay Terrain as well as the chief economic center.

Once a part of the Spanish colonial empire in the 1800s the Uruguayan Terrain in South America came under a brief period of the rule of the Portuguese. Uruguay succeeded in becoming an independent nation in the year 1828. The Spanish past of the Uruguay Terrain still influences many panoramas of the culture of Uruguay.

The official language of Uruguay is Spanish and the formal name of the Uruguay Terrain in the Spanish language is the República Oriental del Uruguay.

Tourism and agriculture play a significant role in Uruguay’s economy.

Uruguay is a small nation of the size of Oklahoma which is a state, yet Uruguay is intemperately urbanized. Statistics speak that almost ninety percent of all the Uruguayans live in the urbanized regions while more than 40% of them inhabit the capital city.
