Urbanization In Uruguay



During the nineteenth century the country of Uruguay was highly developed and by the twentieth century the country became one of the world’s most urbanized places. Urbanization in Uruguay took a very positive role in rebuilding the structure of the country. Urbanization in Uruguay resulted 87% of the Uruguay people to stay in the towns and cities of the country.

The interior parts of Uruguay were sparsely populated but the level of development and urbanization was extremely high. The level of development at Uruguay is on the rise and it depends on the growth rate of the urban population. During the period of 1960s, the population of the metropolitan sector of the country grew at an annual rate of 1.7 percent.

Urbanization at Uruguay took place because of several reasons. Research studies have pointed out many theories for the growth of urbanization in the country. In the early eighties the country of Uruguay stayed under severe control. The setting up of various industries in the country also led to the rapid urbanization of the South American country.
