The official language of United Arab Emirates is Arabic. Arabic language in United Arab Emirates is the most important language and spoken by majority of the population.
The Arabic script has developed from the Nabataean Aramaic script and is in practice from the 4th century A.D. The Arabic language had more consonants than the Aramaic language and in the 7th century new Arabic letters were made by including dots to the old letters. This was done to avoid ambiguities. Diacritis representing short vowels were were developed .
Written Arabic language is of two types. One is the classical and the other is the Modern Standard Arabic language. The Classical Arabic language is used in the Quran and classical literature work. The style and vocabulary of this type of Arabic language is different from Modern Standard Arabic. The Modern Standard Arabic is the universal language and all the Arabic speakers use this language. This language is mostly used in lectures and television shows. The language of Arabic has twenty eight letters. Arabic language is written from right to left and numbers are written from left to right. Letters in Arabic language can be changed depending on their position in the word. Some letters can also be joined in printed and handwritten Arabic language.
