The University of Sharjah was established in 1997 by Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi. The primary goal of University of Sharjah is to train students in a responsible manner so that they receive excellent higher education. The core values of University of Sharjah incite the institution to develop a modern environment for learning.
The 12 great colleges of University of Sharjah offer a large number of academic programs at various levels like the bachelor’s, diploma and master’s. The design of the University is according to Islamic patterns and across the University there are laboratories, study halls, libraries, computer labs, clubs, theaters and various other administrative facilities. For the female and male students of the University there are separate hostels or residential areas.
In recent times University of Sharjah has inaugurated a new complex dedicated to the Colleges of Medicine and Health Sciences. It includes medical research laboratories and a Medical Sciences library.
The libraries of University of Sharjah are 4 in total and they have a vast collection of books on various subjects. They are connected directly to all the offices of the University.
The University of Sharjah has achieved academic accreditation for many of its programs at the master’s and bachelor’s levels in a period of less than 10 years.
