Dubai University College is well known as a higher education institution in Dubai. This university was established by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry or DCCI in 1997. Earlier the name of this university was Dubai Polytechnic. It was changed to the present name after it got approved by the Ministry of Education after 2001.
Dr. M. Omar Hefni is the president of Dubai University College since April 2001 and brought about some significant changes in the institution. The educational programs in Dubai University College were officially recognized by the Ministry of Education in June 2002. The degree programs alloted for the courses of Dubai University College mainly belonged to the College of Business Administration like Bachelor of Business Administration degrees in Marketing, Management, Accounting, Finance and Banking. The College of Information Technology also offers degrees for Bachelor of Science in Internet Computing and Computing and Information Systems.
After placing an Accreditation Eligibility Application to The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business or AACSB in October 2005, it was accepted and the university will start developing its certification plan soon. There are numerous students admitted to this institution belonging to 43 nationalities in total. The lessons in this universities is given in English except Arabic and Islamic Studies. The class timings depend on the course the student opts for. The normal teaching classes are from Saturday to Wednesday. The Campus of Dubai University College is known as the Al Masaood Campus.
