There are two Al Mawakeb Schools in Dubai. The first Al Mawakeb School was established in Dubai in the year 1979. These schools are private schools of international standards from K-12. The schools follow a trilingual program in English, French, and Arabic, including math and science. The curriculum followed by the school is such that they enable graduates to pursue higher education all over the world.
The main aim of Al Mawakeb Schools is to provide complete education to students of all nationalities before entering college. The students are taught in English, as the medium of instruction is English in these schools. The second branch of Al Mawakeb was opened in 1998, at Barsha in Dubai. The Al Mawakeb Schools follow a school calendar that runs from September to June with just one mid-year break.
Extra-curricular activities find a prominent place in Al Mawakeb Schools. The students are encouraged participate in the different events such as yearbook, volleyball, school magazine, computer club, drama club, folklore dance, scouts, art club, karate, piano, basketball, football, track and field. The Al Mawakeb schools have received certification from the UAE Ministry of Education. After the student’s graduate from grade twelve, they are awarded a high school diploma. These grade 12 passed students also receive the UAE Secondary Leaving Certificate (Thanawiya).
