Previously, there were a number of currencies that were used in United Arab Emirates. The list includes names like Qatari Riyal, Bahraini Dinar and Dubai Riyal. Most major credit cards are accepted in almost all the shopping malls and departmental stores here. The mostly used credit cards here are Diners Club, American Club, Visa and Master Card. They also accept different traveler’s checks, particularly if they are in US Dollars and Pound Starlings. There are a number of ATMs all over the country.

The Dirham of United Arab Emirates is available in the notes of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1000. The coins are available in 1, 5, 10, 25 and 50 fils. The value of one Dirham varies between 0.27 USD to 0.30 USD.
