Lying in the southwestern region of Uganda, the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park sprawls over the northern slopes of the three northernmost Virunga Volcanoes, Mt. Muhavura, Mt. Gahinga and Mt. Sabinyo. The Mgahinga Gorilla National Park covers an area of 33.7 square kilometers. The landscape from the national park constitutes the high cones of the extinct Virunga Volcanoes. The viewpoint which is 15 minutes from Ntebeko Gate gives an overall view of the whole area.
The Mgahinga National Park in Uganda is not only significant in terms of travel and tourism in Uganda but also in terms of geography and nature and wildlife. The Mgahinga National Park forms the largest nature and wildlife reserve of Uganda.
