Uganda TV has a number of channels in this country. These channels broadcast several types of programs in Uganda. Some Uganda TV channels broadcast programs on entertainments only. Some other channels are there that broadcast programs on news that are on both domestic and also international issues. Some of the TV channels that are there in Uganda are, International Television Network, International TV Network Uganda, TV Africa 28, East Africa Television and some other. The total number of television channels in Uganda are eight.
The main television channel that is also administered by the Uganda government is the Uganda Television. The most popular channel in Uganda is the UTV which is owned by the state. The programs that are telecasted by this channel in Uganda are most of the time foreign programs. This TV channel in Uganda has a wide area coverage and that is why this channel dominates the field related to TV channels. Another popular TV channel in Uganda that is a private channel is the Wavah Broadcasting Service. This channel is comparatively new in the television channel market in Uganda. This channel has programs that are based on both news and entertainments. Two of its most popular programs are, Showtime Magazine and Jam Agenda.
Apart from these two main TV channels there are some other channels that are also known for broadcasting quality programs of several types. There is a TV channel in Uganda that broadcasts only religious programs. This channel is the Lighthouse Television in Uganda. TV Africa is another popular channel of this country.
