Malaria in Uganda is the main cause for the mortality rate in Uganda. Over 95 % Malaria in Uganda is caused by Plasmodium falciparum.

The rate of outpatient visits in Uganda due to Malaria is 39 % and the rate of inpatient visits is 35 %. In the year 1997 the rate of Malaria cases in Uganda was 5 million and in the year 2003 the rate of Uganda Malaria was 16.5 million.

Prevention of Malaria can be done in the following ways-
- It is always preferable to sleep under a mosquito bed net.
- DEET insect repellent should be used on the skin for preventing mosquito bites.
- Insect spray should be used in the room while sleeping.
- Long pants and long sleeved shirts should be worn for avoiding mosquito bites.
