Living in Uganda helps in the understanding of the history, society and culture of the people of the country, the Ugandans. The devastating rule of Idi Amin was followed by unstable living conditions in Uganda. In recent times, Uganda has however achieved the much craved peace and stability in the general living in Uganda.
The economic development of the country has given a boost to the betterment of living in Uganda. The population of Uganda is a mixture of various ethnic groups like the Baganda, Banyakole, Basoga, Bakiga, Iteso, Langi, Acholi, Bagisu, Lugbara, Bunyoro and others. These ethnic groups maintain their form of lifestyle, easy and simplistic.
The cities especially the capital Kampala bustles with life. The living in Uganda cities is like any other major cities of the world. The people living in Uganda cities lead a fast paced life, quite a contrasting picture to the lifestyle of the small towns and villages.
The people living in Uganda speak in a number of native languages such as Ganda or Luganda, Niger-Congo languages, Nilo-Saharan languages, Swahili and Arabic. The official language is English. The religions practiced by the people living in Uganda are Roman Catholicism, Protestantism, Islam and others.
Living in Uganda has its share of problems as well. The economy of the country still needs to be developed. The other problems include raising acts of crime and violence of some insurgent groups, health related problems, lack of proper infrastructure in the sector of education, etc.
The conditions of living in Uganda are improving with each day. The active participation of the Ugandan Government along with the help and support of foreign countries and organizations of international repute is working in favor of bettering the living in Uganda.
