Uganda Securities Exchange is an organization that handles the country's stock exchange. The main purpose of Uganda Securities Exchange is to develop and manage the security market in the most efficient way.
Uganda Securities Exchange also takes care of the development and functioning of the Uganda's capital market.
Securities Exchange of Uganda was established and got the license to operate in the
Stock exchange in 1997 June and later in 1998 January it started the trading operations.
The
Uganda Securities Exchange is headed by the Governing Council and has an appointed chairman and managing director. The functions of the Uganda Securities Exchange are various and basically it raises investment funds for the assessment in long term products.

Liquidity Generation
The enhancement and growth of the financial sectors
Maintaining the accounting standards and resource management
Facilitating the equity financing in respect to debt financing
Disinvestment of the government owned companies
Discovering the prices
Savings Mobilization
Finance improvement to access it in smaller and newer companies
Uganda Securities Exchange works full fledged and it looks after the development of the market in the most efficient way and that's even in the international platform. Uganda Securities Exchange is opened five days a week and it's from Monday to Friday.
