Uganda poverty is the most critical and serious problem of the country and Africa as a whole. The low income group people are affected mainly and the children are also deprived of basic needs like food, shelter and education. Uganda poverty has led to various threats to children and largely the prevalence, abuse and exploitation of street children are seen. According to the sources, about 35% of the Uganda population is below the poverty line and it has major causes behind it.
Some of the major causes for Uganda poverty are highlighted below:
Uganda is an agricultural country but this sector is heavily under debt. So every single Ugandan is under the debt. There is little scope to come out of this vicious circle.
The occurrence of Civil Wars- One of the chief reasons for poverty in Uganda is the ongoing civil strife. Civil wars in Uganda have given rise to widespread destruction of life and property and resulted in poverty of the nation.
Occurrence of Disease-Uganda is badly affected with life threatening diseases like HIV/AIDS and malnutrition is the most common one.
To manage the poverty in Uganda, Africa, various implementations has been taken by the government. "Uganda Society for Disabled Children" has come up to provide helping hands for those needy children. The society tries its level best for providing the children homely atmosphere along with proper education. African Center for economic growth is another organization started in 1993 and it is a private non-profit body solely devoted to the betterment of the Uganda. The WHO (World health organization) has even taken initiative for removing the Uganda Poverty and thus making the Uganda Society a better and proper one in the near future.
