Turkey UNICEF,has made a huge progress in the development of the poor children of the nation since 1980. Turkey UNICEF aims at making a difference in the lives of every child in Turkey in every aspect. It mainly envisages children rights, protection, education and children health.

Though Turkey is one of the growing economies of the world today, the children of the country are facing various critical problems like child labor, child marriage etc . Turkey UNICEF is working to eradicate these issues regarding children in the different fields of the society.

UNICEF's relationship with Turkey began around 56 years ago and it is one of the most long standing and strong International relationship. UNICEF,Turkey aims at the well being and the development of the Turkish children. The activities of Turkey UNICEF falls under 4 main categories. Theses are:

  • Early Childhood care and Development programmes (ECCD).
    Focuses on the best beginning of life for a child.
  • Education programmes
    Emphasizes on Primary education in the rural areas and school enrollments especially for girl children
  • Protection programmes
    Providing protection to children and upholding their rights.
  • Communication for social and resource mobilization programmes
    Gaining public support for achieving the objectives and for ensuring safety and development of children.

    Turkey UNICEF has evolved over the years from its first project till its present ones which are based more on the rights of the children and is more holistic in its approach towards the child development and protection. Turkey UNICEF also copes with emergencies and disasters by setting up children projects. "Say Yes" the quarterly newsletter of Turkey UNICEF features its programs on health care, children rights and other issues. It gives an updated information on the activities of Turkey UNICEF.
