Turkey Industries are on their path to improvement utilizing the
natural resources of Turkey. The history of the progression of
Turkish Industries is full of ups and downs.
The increase in production from 1973-1977 was followed by a sharp decline in 1978-79 due to the financial crisis in Turkey. Rate of production gathered speed again during 1985-87 and continued to do so until 1999, the year of Russian financial turbulence. Things have improved in recent times and
industries of Turkey are doing well.
Several favorable factors influence the growth of the Turkey Industries like a huge stock of natural resources, a large domestic as well as export market, positive economic policies, improved transportation and communication systems, etc.
Turkey has four main industrial zones. They are Istanbul and the area around the Sea of Marmara, the Aegean coast around Izmir, the Adana basin, and the region around Ankara.
